HOT HARMONIES:
True to its name, Hot Club of Cowtown mixes old western swing with some gypsy jazz that recalls the collaborations between Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. The Cowtown players made a few sparkling records in the ’90s and then split, but singer/fiddler Elana James, singer/guitarist Whit Smith and singer/bassist Jake Erwin reconvene every so often to trade licks and sing pretty harmonies. 6 p.m. Thursday at Natachee’s, 3622 Main; $15; 713-524-7203, continentalclub.com.
