A JAPANESE LEGEND:

- Molly Glentzer

Summer’s trippiest art environments arrive Sunday with “Kusama: At the End of the Universe” at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The show features two very different “infinity rooms” by legendary Japanese pop artist Yayoi Kusama. You might feel like a munchkin in an exuberant forest amid the giant, polka-dotted forms of “Love Is Calling.” Step into the meditative, seemingly intangible golden realm of “Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity” (which the museum recently acquired), and you could think you’re floating through a far galaxy. You may not want to leave either place. The installations are on view through Sept. 18. at 1001 Bissonnet; $7.50-$15 (free on Thursdays); 713-639-7300; mfah.org.
