William “Bill” George Hay, 87 passed away the 26th of June 2016. He was born in Beaumont, Texas the 12th of January 1929. In high school, he was active in sports and excelled in track. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1951, earning a degree in Business Administra­tion and served his country as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War. He retired after many successful years in business ventures.

Bill enjoyed traveling, golf and visiting family and friends. As an avid sports fan, he faithfully followed Astros baseball. He was a member of the American Legion, alumni of the University of Texas and a member of the Presbyteri­an Church. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Emory V.Hay, mother, Martha W. Hay and his sister, Elizabeth Hay. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Douglas Hay and children, Richard Hay (Linda), Elizabeth Curry (Jeff ), Julie Davidson (Kim), Dawn Gunther, Norma Capone (Bill), Joe Herring (Sarah), and Marvin Herring. He has 13 grandchild­ren and 4 great grandchild­ren.

We wish to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Memorial Hermann and hospice.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from two until three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 1st of July in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston where the funeral service is to commence at three o’clock.

The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
