Yankees score six in ninth

NEW YORK — Brian McCann hit a tying, three-run homer off Sam Dyson, Didi Gregorius capped a six-run ninth inning with his two-run shot, and the New York Yankees woke up to beat the Texas Rangers 9-7 Wednesday night.

Down 7-2 and in danger of falling 10 games behind AL East-leading Baltimore, New York began its comeback when McCann homered off Cesar Ramos in the eighth.

In the ninth, Brett Gardner singled and Rob Refsnyder walked in. After Alex Rodriguez lined out, McCann homered into the right-field bleachers, Starlin Castro walked, and Gregorius lined the ball into the right-field seats for his first career game-ending homer.

INDIANS 3, BRAVES 0: Danny Salazar threw seven innings, Lonnie Chisenhall hit his second homer of the series, and Cleveland stretched its winning streak to 12 games by shutting out visting Atlanta.

ORIOLES 12, PADRES 6: Mark Trumbo hit his major league-leading 23rd homer and drove in four runs for Baltimore, which beat host San Diego for its seventh straight win.

TIGERS 10, MARLINS 3: Miguel Cabrera hit his 18th homer of the season, tying Billy Williams at No. 48 on baseball’s career list with 426, as Detroit topped visiting Miami.

CUBS 9, REDS 2: Anthony Rizzo legged out his first insidethe-park homer, and Chicago defeated host Cincinnati to complete a three-game sweep.

NATIONALS 4, METS 2: Daniel Murphy homered twice, tormenting his former team yet again, and host Washington completed a three-game sweep of New York.

PHILLIES 9, DIAMONDBAC­KS 8 (10): Tyler Goeddel hit a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, and Philadelph­ia completed its first sweep at Chase Field in 10 years by beating Arizona.

RAYS 4, RED SOX 0: Matt Moore pitched seven spotless innings, and Brandon Guyer homered and drove in two runs, leading Tampa Bay to a victory over visiting Boston.

BLUE JAYS 5, ROCKIES 3: Aaron Sanchez allowed one run in eight innings, and Josh Donaldson homered to lead host Toronto to a victory over Colorado.

BREWERS 7, DODGERS 0: Junior Guerra allowed two hits over eight innings to carry Milwaukee past visiting Los Angeles, spoiling the major league debut of Brock Stewart.

WHITE SOX 9, TWINS 6: James Shields broke out of a slump with 62⁄3 innings against one of baseball’s worst lineups, helping Chicago beat visiting Minnesota.
