Rangers rally past Rockies
DENVER — Adrian Beltre hit a two-run double, Elvis Andrus added a tiebreaking single, and the Texas Rangers scored four runs in the eighth inning to beat the Colorado Rockies 7-5 on Tuesday.
The AL West leaders had five hits in the inning and handed Colorado another tough loss in the two-game sweep.
Texas had four consecutive hits as Carlos Beltran drove in a run with a single and Beltre tied the game with a tworun double. Andrus gave his team the lead when he drove in Beltre with his second hit of the game.
INDIANS 3, NATIONALS 1: Francisco Lindor singled to break up Max Scherzer’s no-hit bid and scored in the seventh inning, and Trevor Bauer pitched visiting Cleveland to a win over Washington.
RED SOX 5, YANKEES 3: Rick Porcello continued to dominate at Fenway Park with eight solid innings, Matt Barnes cleaned up a mess created by closer Craig Kimbrel, and host Boston held on to beat New York.
CUBS 5, ANGELS 1: Kris Bryant hit his 28th home run, John Lackey outpitched friend and former teammate Jered Weaver, and host Chicago beat Los Angeles.
MARLINS 2, GIANTS 0: Tom Koehler pitched seven innings to help host Miami to a victory over San Francisco.
WHITE SOX 7, ROYALS 5 (10): Todd Frazier hit a threerun homer in the 10th inning, and Justin Morneau had four hits to lift visiting Chicago over Kansas City.
REDS 7, CARDINALS 4: Adam Duvall drove in two runs, and Tyler Holt’s double drove in the game-winning run as visiting Cincinnati beat St. Louis.
RAYS 9, BLUE JAYS 2: Drew Smyly pitched six innings to win his second straight decision, Logan Forsythe hit a solo homer, and visiting Tampa Bay beat Toronto.
DIAMONDBACKS 5, METS 3: Zack Greinke won in his return from a six-week stay on the disabled list, Michael Bourn hit a go-ahead triple in the seventh inning, and visiting Arizona rallied past New York.
PIRATES 6, PADRES 4: Gregory Polanco hit a tiebreaking three-run homer, and Chad Kuhl pitched six innings for the win as host Pittsburgh defeated San Diego.
BRAVES 2, BREWERS 1: Tyrell Jenkins pitched six strong innings as visiting Atlanta beat Milwaukee.
ATHLETICS 2, ORIOLES 1: Jake Smolinski singled and scored the deciding run in the third to lead host Oakland.
