MLB REPORT
CHICAGO WHITE SOX
The team put outfielder-designated hitter Avisail Garcia on the disabled list with a right knee sprain.
CLEVELAND INDIANS
Outfielder Michael Brantley has had another setback following right shoulder surgery, and his ability to return this season is in doubt. Brantley saw a specialist, and the team said he has symptoms consistent with chronic biceps tendinitis. He experienced a recurrence of shoulder problems while working through hitting activities last week.
MIAMI MARLINS
The team placed AllStar closer A.J. Ramos on the 15-day disabled list with a right finger fracture. The move was retroactive to Aug. 6, and Ramos, who has 32 saves in 34 opportunities, will be eligible to return Aug. 21. Fellow All-Star reliever Fernando Rodney will assume the closing duties.
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
The team placed Michael Wacha on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation, a day after his latest start, and purchased the contract of top prospect Alex Reyes from Class AAA Memphis. To make room for Reyes, catcher Brayan Pena (left knee) was transferred from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL. The 21-yearold Reyes was 2-3 with a 4.96 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 651⁄3 innings in the minors. He pitched a scoreless inning Tuesday, twice hitting 101 mph.
WASHINGTON NATIONALS
Bryce Harper was out of the lineup for the second consecutive game because of a stiff neck.
