Source of pollution

Regarding “San Jac waste pits: full remediation” (Page A17, Saturday), the San Jacinto waste pits have been contaminating our river for far too long. The people living in this area need a timely and effective solution. We must support the installation of a permanent cap to ensure the safety of our environment.

The other options being considered, including dredging, are too risky and will take too long. We must all speak out to do the right thing for our society and approve the cap as soon as possible. Brenda L. Gonzales, Webster.
