Martha Jane Foster (Cauthen), age 78, died peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Knoxville, TN. She was a devoted mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r who loved her family dearly and always wanted what was best for all. She was an avid Texas Longhorn football fan, and loved profession­al games just as much as collegiate. She looked forward to football season each year and talking about the games with her football buddy.

She is survived by her children Tammy Tate (Jerry) of Maryville, TN, Richard J. Foster II (Betsy) of Floresvill­e, Texas, Laura Foster of Needville, Texas and Michael Foster (AJ) of Port O’Connor, Texas; grandchild­ren, Brian Fox (Sara), Lewisville, Texas, Amanda Fox, Knoxville, TN, Richard J. Foster III, Port O’Connor Texas, Clay Kucera, Cherry Point, NC, Caitlin Kucera, Needville, Texas and Coby Foster, College Station, Texas; great-children McKenzie and Brielle Fox, Lewisville, Texas and Cayden Huss, Knoxville, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Blanche (McIver) Cauthen, of Houston, Texas and by her special aunts Rosa McIver Kaufhold, Louise McIver and Katherine Openshaw all of Houston, Texas.

Martha was born on August 10, 1937 in Houston, Texas and was one of 13 brothers and sisters. She was a graduate of San Jacinto High School and also attended the University of Texas at Austin. She was of the Lutheran Faith.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023, 713-928-5141 with Pastor Gigee officiatin­g. The family wishes to thank you in advance for all of your prayers and kind words during this difficult time.
