WWII planes are on display

Guests can tour a historic World War II fighter plane and other aviation wonders during an open house at Gill Aviation at David Wayne Hooks Airport in Spring from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13. Admission to see and tour the planes is free, but tickets must be purchased to book a ride.

The B-17 Flying Fortress “Texas Raiders” and three trainer planes will be on display and rides can be scheduled in advance. The “Texas Raiders” is the last of its kind still being flown, and belongs to the Commemorat­ive Air Force Gulf Coast Wing stationed in Houston.
