Dolphins list Foster as top running back

- From wire reports

DAVIE, Fla. — Fourtime Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster is a starter again.

Foster was listed with the first unit on Miami’s depth chart Monday and will start the opener Sunday at Seattle less than 11 months after tearing his Achilles tendon while with the Texans.

Signed by the Dolphins in July, Foster rushed for only 5 yards on seven carries in the preseason but beat out Jay Ajayi for the starting job.

Eagles go all in on rookie Wentz

The Carson Wentz Era is now for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The No. 2 overall draft pick from North Dakota State will start the season opener against Cleveland despite missing the final three preseason games after injuring his ribs in the opener.

Coach Doug Pederson made the announcement two days after the Eagles traded Sam Bradford to Minnesota for a 2017 first-round pick and a 2018 conditional fourth-round pick.

“Everybody feels like this kid is ready to go,” Pederson said.

Odds and ends

Justin Forsett was re-signed by Baltimore, which cut the former Pro Bowl running back Saturday. Forsett, who played for the Texans in 2012, ran for 1,266 yards in 2014 and carried for 641 yards as the starter last year before a broken arm cut short his season in late November. He saw limited action in the preseason before being released. … Quarterback Jameill Showers, who was waived by Dallas to make room on the roster for quarterback Mark Sanchez, was re-signed to the team’s practice squad. … The 49ers released tight end Bruce Miller hours after he was arrested for assaulting two men.
