Texans at Jaguars
1 When: Noon Sunday TV: CBS The Texans (5-3) will try to remain unbeaten in the AFC South while also winning on the road for the first time this season against Jacksonville (2-5), which has shown flashes of improvement.
Spurs at Rockets
2 When: 7 p.m. Saturday TV: Root The Rockets are back at Toyota Center for only the second time this season, coming off a five-game, nine-day road trip that included a victory Wednesday night at San Antonio.
Tulane at Houston
3 When: 2:30 p.m. Saturday TV: CBSSN The Cougars (7-2, 4-2) have come back to earth after the season-opening victory over Oklahoma, but they should begin to regain momentum at TDECU Stadium against Tulane (3-6, 0-5).
West Virginia at Texas
4 When: 11 a.m. Saturday TV: FS1 If the Longhorns (5-4, 3-3) need to win out to save Charlie Strong’s job, this likely will be the toughest test remaining. West Virginia (7-1, 4-1) still has a chance to win the Big 12.
Baylor at Oklahoma
5 When: 11 a.m. Saturday TV: ABC This was one of the games before the season to circle on the calendar. Now Baylor (6-2, 3-2) will try to rebound from consecutive losses against the Sooners (7-2, 6-0), who have won six in a row.
Mississippi at Texas A&M
6 When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday TV: SEC Network The Aggies (7-2, 4-2) had their College Football Playoff hopes dashed in a loss at Mississippi State, where quarterback Trevor Knight suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Likewise, Ole Miss (4-5, 1-4) will be missing quarterback Chad Kelly (torn ACL).
Cowboys at Steelers
7 When: 3:25 p.m. Sunday TV: Fox No quarterback controversy yet in Dallas. The Cowboys (7-1) continue to roll with a two-game lead in the NFC East behind rookie Dak Prescott. Ben Roethlisberger returned from an injury last week but looked rusty for the Steelers (4-4).
USC at Washington
8 When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday TV: Fox This game could provide the best chance for a shakeup among the top four in the CFP rankings. The Trojans (6-3, 5-2 Pac-12) have won five consecutive games behind freshman quarterback Sam Darnold heading into Washington (9-0, 6-0).
Can Am 500
9 When: 1:30 p.m. Sunday TV: NBC With Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson guaranteed spots among NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Chase final four, this race at Phoenix International Speedway will be the last chance for any other drivers to advance to the championship.
USA vs. Mexico
10 When: 6:45 p.m. Friday TV: FS1, Univision The final round of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian begins with this match in Columbus, Ohio, one of the few places in the country where the United States can count on home-crowd advantage.
