Give those unwanted programs the boot
Q: Malwarebytes finds PUPs on my computer and asks what to do. Should I just have Malwarebytes delete or quarantine them?
A: PUPs is an acronym for Potentially Unwanted Programs, and these include things like browser toolbars and other background applications that tend to get installed along with free applications you may download.
While they are not technically spyware or malware, they do use system resources and can sometimes give you more advertisements than you would typically get if they were not installed.
For the most part, I delete them when I find them. They’re typically worthless and don’t provide any real benefit. If you are curious, you can use a search engine to see if you can find out more specifics, but I would not waste my time.
Q: How do you rotate a picture taken with an iPhone from horizontal to vertical?
A: There are a number of ways to edit photos you take with your iPhone. The easiest way would be to do it on the phone itself.
From the Home screen, tap Photos. Tap the image you want to rotate, and you will see some icons at the bottom of your screen.
Tap on the icon just to the right of where it says Cancel, and this will bring up the options to rotate, level and crop your image.
When finished, tap Done.
You can also edit your photos on your computer using applications like Microsoft Paint, which is installed on most Windows computers.
In Paint, open the image file, and you will see a Rotate option under the Home tab. Using this, you can flip the image horizontally, vertically as well as rotating it 90 to 180 degrees to the left or to the right.
If you are enjoying taking photos with your phone, you might want to check out some of the more sophisticated photo apps like Adobe Photoshop and other. Most of which are free or inexpensive.
The camera in the iPhone is really quite remarkable, and with some of these apps you can really get the most out of your phone.
