Spurs outlast struggling Mavericks for sixth consecutiv­e victory

SAN ANTONIO — Kawhi Leonard had 24 points and nine rebounds, and San Antonio escaped with a 96-91 victory over struggling Dallas on Monday night for its sixth straight victory.

Dallas guard Seth Curry matched a career high with 23 points, shooting 5 for 10 on 3-pointers. Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes each had 20 points in Dallas’ sixth consecutiv­e loss.

With Dallas trailing 92-91, Barnes missed a fadeaway 17-footer with 15 seconds left that Manu Ginobili rebounded before being fouled. Ginobili hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead to 94-91 before Curry missed a 3 with 6 seconds remaining.

San Antonio has won six straight against Dallas and 12 in a row at home.

Klay Thompson scored 25 points in 26 minutes, and two-time MVP Stephen Curry added 22 points as Golden State routed host Indiana.

Golden State has won eight straight and kept its starters on the bench for the entire fourth quarter after taking a 29-point lead.

Kevin Durant had 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for Golden State.

Mike Conley had 31 points, Marc Gasol flirted with a triple-double, and Memphis defeated host Charlotte for its fifth straight win. Conley had five 3-pointers.

Bradley Beal scored 42 points, and John Wall had seven key points down the stretch as Washington beat visiting Phoenix.

Joel Embiid had 22 points, including four late free throws, to lead Philadelph­ia over visiting Miami.

Gerald Henderson added 19 points and Jahlil Okafor had 15 for Philadelph­ia, which won its fourth straight home game. Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points, and Boston rallied from 13 points down in the fourth quarter to beat host Minnesota.

Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had his first triple-double of the season to lead Milwaukee over visiting Orlando. Milwaukee snapped a three-game losing streak as Antetokoun­mpo finished with 21 points.
