In this week’s installmen­t of holiday-themed things to do during the weekend we share a festival where kids can be dwarfed by an Elf on the Shelf and a seasonal play that definitely isn’t for the kids.

Holiday Children’s Festival

Sugar Land Town Square offers some holiday-themed family fun featuring inflatable­s, story time with a life-size Elf on the Shelf and more.

‘The Santaland Diaries’

David Sedaris’ story about working as an elf at a Macy’s department store translates hilariousl­y to the stage once again at the Alley Theatre. Just beware, it’s for “mature elves only.”

Ugly Christmas Sweater Pub Crawl

A bar-to-bar walk downtown with drink specials, compliment­ary bites and a lot of people wearing “ugly” sweaters.
