ZARAGOZA M. GLORIA
1928-2017
Zaragoza Mendez Gloria was born on July 1, 1928, he was 88 years old when he entered eternal life, peacefully, on the morning of January 12, 2017, surrounded by his immediately family, Paul Gloria and Fr. Tim. He is preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, son Michael and granddaughter Sylvia “Nina”. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife, of 65 years, Josephine Gloria, his daughter Sylvia Gloria. His 3 grandchildren Trinidad Rodriguez, Jr., Nathan Gloria and Andrea Gloria. His 3 great-grandchildren Andrew Rodriguez, Adrian Gloria and Evelyn Gloria. His godchildren Nick, Alex and Olivia Rangel, who they all lovingly called “grandpa”, many family members including sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and Our Lady of Guadalupe church community. He was parishioner of “Our Lady” as he liked to say, all of his life, serving on the Parish Council for many years and working countless volunteer hours with projects and fundraisers for the church. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Los Abuelitos group. He was a 16 year member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Byrne Council 3077. He proudly served his country, a Korean War veteran, in the United States air Force, with the 5th Air Force Battalion during his time with the United States Air Force he was a Military Policeman.
The visitation and rosary will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Forest Park Lawndale on 6900 Lawndale. Visitation is from 5 p.m. 9:00 p.m., Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on 2405 Navigation Blvd. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer cemetery on 12800 Westheimer Rd.
Pallbearers will be Trinidad Rodriguez, Nathan Gloria, Martin Gloria, Moses Gloria, Christopher Paul Gloria, Armando Gloria Tello, Andrew Gloria Martinez and Jesus Rangel.
