EDWARD (EDDIE) CRANSTON HOWARD

Edward (Eddie) Cranston Howard of Galveston, Texas passed away on February 11, 2017 in Galveston. He was born on the island (BOI) on March 10, 1929 and was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edward and Frances Howard, and a daughter, Stephanie Kain.

Eddie Howard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Diane; a younger brother, John, and his wife, Nancy; four sons and their families – Michael Howard (Debbie), Craig Howard, Dickie Howard (Sallie), and Mark Howard (Terri Kerr-Brown); four daughters and their families – Jean Sargent (Bill), Cynthia Robbins (James), Jennifer Day (Rusty), and Elizabeth Howard; nephews John and Mark Davis; niece Haley Howard; and numerous grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children.

Eddie was a pioneer in field machining on the Texas Gulf Coast and owned Field Equipment and Service Company (FEASCO) in Houston, Texas from 1971 through 2005. He helped many people feed their families through employment at FEASCO. In recent years Eddie was an active member of the Galveston Citizens Police Academy Alumni Associatio­n (GCPAAA), a Mason, and a Shriner. He and Diane enjoyed dining out monthly with the Dipsy Diners in Galveston for many years.

Eddie was a kind and extremely generous man who was devoted to his family. He and his unique sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Eddie’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

A rosary will begin at 9:45 am, Friday, February 17, 2017, at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica with a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Father Richard Goodin will act as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contributi­on to your favorite charity.
