Annie Mae Pflughaupt, née Petersen, went to be with the Lord on the evening of March 23, 2017. Annie Mae was born on January 7, 1934 to Anton Christian Petersen and Linda Emma Helene, née Ahrens, at their home in Genoa, Harris County, Texas. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1952, and married her sweetheart William Harold (Bill) Pflughaupt on August 29, 1953 at the Golden Acres Assembly of God church in Pasadena. She was a devoted wife and homemaker her entire adult life, providing a stable, loving home and happy childhood for her four children.

Annie Mae was a gifted pianist and vocalist, beginning her service as a church musician at the age of 10 (after only a few months of lessons) and playing in a number of churches for over for 40 years. She developed a unique and unmistakab­le style that was all her own, had a keen ear and love of hymns.

Annie Mae is survived by her son Wayne Pflughaupt and wife Donna of Katy; daughter Sharon Pyle and husband Dwight of Trinity; daughter-in-law Laura Pflughaupt of Hockley; seven grandchild­ren, Sean Pflughaupt and wife Jennifer, Ryan Pflughaupt and wife Amanda, Justin Pflughaupt, Michelle Vasquez and husband Samuel, Kaitlyn Pflughaupt, Chad Pflughaupt, and Eric Pflughaupt; seven great-grandchild­ren, Sean Pflughaupt-Roberts, Isabella Pflughaupt, Anthony Vasquez, Hannah Pflughaupt, Christian Vasquez, Addie Pflughaupt and Jazmyn-Rose Vasquez; and sister-in-law, Gloria Petersen of Houston. Annie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved parents and husband Bill, two sons Gary Pflughaupt and Greg Pflughaupt, brothers Erin, August, and Louis Petersen, and half-brother William Cryer.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue, in Katy, where a service to honor and remember Annie Mae will be held at 3:00 p.m. with her grandson, Ryan Pflughaupt officiatin­g. She will be laid to rest with her husband and sons at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, TX 77055.
