Baker’s home run helps TCU rally late past Oklahoma State

No. 3 Texas Christian rallied with four runs in the eighth inning to beat No. 21 Oklahoma State 7-5 Friday night at Fort Worth.

Luken Baker started the rally with a home run, and Dalton Brown followed with another to tie the game. Austen Wade, who finished with three hits, added a two-run double before the Cowboys got out of the inning.

Haylen Green got the win for TCU (15-5 , 3-1 Big 12).

Garrett McCain led Oklahoma State (15-7, 0-1) with three hits.

HOUSTON 4 CAL-IRVINE 3

Jared Triolo had four hits, including an RBI single in the ninth, to lift the Cougars over the Anteaters in a non-conference game at Irvine, Calif.

UH improved to 16-5. Cal-Irvine is 11-7.

VANDERBILT 4 TEXAS A&M 3

Jeren Kendall’s secondinni­ng grand slam was the difference as the Commodores edged the Aggies in Nashville, Tenn.

Kendall had two of the four hits managed by Vanderbilt (15-8, 2-2 SEC). Vandy starter Kyle Wright went five innings to earn the victory.

Braden Shewmake drove in all three runs for the Aggies (15-8, 0-4).

TEXAS 2, KANSAS ST. 0

Nolan Kingham shut out the Wildcats on four hits as the Longhorns won in Austin.

Kingham (3-2) walked two and struck out five.

Texas (15-10, 1-3 Big 12) scored in the third on Michael McCann’s double play ball. Kansas State fell to 15-7 and 0-1.

TEXAS TECH 10 WICHITA ST. 5

The No. 8 Red Raiders jumped to a 10-0 lead in a victory over the Shockers at Wichita, Kan.

Michael Berglund went 3-for-3 and drove in four runs for Texas Tech (20-4, 3-0 Big 12). Davis Martin gave up a run on three hits in six innings for the win. The Shockers (11-12) had only seven hits.

OKLAHOMA 11 BAYLOR 3

Blake Brewster homered and drove in four runs as the 24th-ranked Sooners came from behind to defeat the No. 20 Bears in Waco.

Steele Walker had a home run for Oklahoma (22-4, 1-0 Big 12).

The Bears (17-5, 1-3) got four hits and a pair of RBIs from Aaron Dodson.

HOUSTON BAPTIST 8 SE LOUISIANA 7

Brandon Brintz provided a walk-off RBI single as the Huskies claimed the Southland Conference series opener at Husky Field. Zane Otten went 2-for-4 with a triple and scored twice for HBU (911, 1-3 SLC).

J.T. Newton (2-0) earned the win, holding the Lions (14-7, 5-2 SLC) scoreless over the final 2.2 innings.

ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 13 PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 10

Jerimiah Figueroa’s grand slam in the seventh broke open a one-run game as the Golden Lions topped the Panthers at Prairie View.

Bradly Lopez contribute­d three hits for the Golden Lions (5-15 , 4-3 SWAC).

For the Panthers (7-20, 3-4), Xavier Jefferson went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI.
