Jane Rebecca (Quinn) Kelly, “Meme”, 97, departed this life peacefully on March 27, 2017 after a short period of declining health. Jane was born on December 17, 1919 in Skidmore, Texas to James R. Quinn and Carlotta Lang Quinn. She moved to Houston, Texas as a child and graduated from San Jacinto High School.

As a longtime resident of the Houston Heights, Jane was employed for 32 years at the Southern Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Her passions included quilting, knitting, and other needlecraf­t projects, in addition to gardening.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Horace Eugene Kelly, Jr.; her sister, Mary Frances Quinn; and a son, Larry Lang Kelly. She is survived by her son Horace Eugene Kelly III and wife Patsy Kelly; son Reed Q . Kelly and wife Cindy Kelly; her nieces: Barbara Belcher Foxhall (Edward Foxhall) and Lela Burnett Krieger; grandson, Kyle E. Kelly (Angela Zuccarini Kelly); granddaugh­ter, Kimberlyn Kelly Everett (Mike Everett); great-granddaugh­ters Brooke and Claire Everett; grand and great-grand nephews; and many cousins and friends. Her dearest friends were Mrs. Janet McGlamery and Mrs. Grace Ann Potts. The family expresses special appreciati­on for the loving care received from caregiver Cecilia Juarez and Alamo Hospice.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, April 22, 2017 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Clayton Library Center for Genealogic­al Research (5300 Caroline, Houston, Texas 77004), Grace United Methodist Church (1245 Heights Blvd), or to a favorite charity.
