The Houston Pride festival and parade top the list of activities this weekend.

Houston Pride Festival

The Houston Pride Festival — featuring singer LeAnn Rimes and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Chad Michaels — starts at noon Saturday at City Hall, 901 Bagby, and the partying won’t stop until 7 p.m. Then it will be time to head over and watch the Houston Pride Parade, which begins at 8:30 p.m. at Smith and Lamar streets and runs through downtown Houston. Admission: Both the festival and parade are free.

Mexican art

Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros are among the iconic artist represente­d in “Paint the Revolution: Mexican Modernism, 1910-1950,” which introduces viewers to a broader spectrum of works from the first half of the 20th century. The exhibit, which offers the most comprehens­ive look at Mexican modern art in more than 70 years, comes to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston from the Philadelph­ia Museum of Art and the Museo del Palacio de Ballas Artes, Mexico City. ‘Lion King’ musical

The highest-grossing Broadway musical of all time returns to Houston with its vibrant costumes and puppetry, inventive direction and the musical genius. Dashaun Young reprises his role as Simba in the national tour of this beloved production. Everclear
