ROBERT C. HARRISON

1961-2017

-

Robert C. Harrison, 56, lived his life with passion and zest. Showing great courage and strength battling a long and difficult illness, Robert passed peacefully from this earth on June 22, 2017.

Robert was an avid movie buff, political pundit, dessert enthusiast (especially all things chocolate) and most especially, a born storyteller. Quick with a big smile and a sincere interest in people, he made friends everywhere he went. Born in Texas, he also lived in California and Connecticut during his school years. He graduated from Manhattanville College in New York, followed by law school in St Louis where he began his legal career. He eventually went to work for ExxonMobil, his career taking him to assignments in Houston TX, Florham Park NJ, Baton Rouge and New Orleans LA, Brussels, and Fairfax VA. Robert retired from ExxonMobil in 2016 due to health issues.

Katherine and Jacqueline, his two beloved daughters, survive Robert. He also leaves behind his mother, Mary Lou Harrison, sisters Carol A. Haenel, Jeanine H. Buckley (Randy), Melanie L. Gonzales (Jesse), nieces and nephews Todd, Lisa, Rachel and Dillon. Robert’s father, Charles Melvin Harrison preceded him in death in 2009.

Instead of sadness at his passing, Robert asked that we celebrate and honor his life and his love for his daughters. In respect for Robert’s wishes, a brief memorial service to be followed by a party celebrating Robert’s life will be held Wednesday, July 12 at 5pm at the McGovern Centennial Gardens, 1500 Hermann Drive, Houston Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you take a walk on a beach, watch the sunset, hold your children extra tight, and make a toast to enduring friendships. Robert would have liked that.
