Fister, Red Sox blast Indians

CLEVELAND — Doug Fister gave up a leadoff homer in the first inning to Francisco Lindor and then nothing else, finishing with a career-best one-hitter, and Eduardo Nunez had five RBIs as the visiting Boston Red Sox rolled to a 9-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.

Fister (3-6) was facing Cleveland for the third time in four starts, and the right-hander took advantage of his familiarit­y with the Indians’ lineup. He allowed two walks and hit a batter, but was otherwise in control. Backed by two double plays, he pitched his first complete game since 2014 with Washington.

ROYALS 3, ROCKIES 2: Danny Duffy and four relievers combined for a two-hitter, helping Kansas City hold off visiting Colorado.

ATHLETICS 6, ORIOLES 4: Ryon Healy homered twice and had three RBIs and visiting Oakland beat Baltimore.

DIAMONDBAC­KS 7, METS 4: Patrick Corbin pitched eight innings in a win and Arizona beat host New York.

PADRES 12, CARDINALS 4: Yangervis Solarte homered and drove in a career-high six runs and San Diego beat host St. Louis.

TWINS 4, WHITE SOX 1: Jorge Polanco homered for the third time in two days in Minnesota victory over host Chicago.

CUBS 13, REDS 9: Kris Bryant exited after being hit in the left hand by a pitch as Chicago beat host Cincinnati.

BRAVES 4, MARINERS 0: Rookie Lucas Sims pitched three-hit ball over six innings as Atlanta beat visiting Seattle.

MARLINS SWEEP PHILLIES: Ichiro Suzuki hit a three-run homer as visiting Miami beat Philadelph­ia 12-8 in the opener of a doublehead­er. In game two, Christian Yelich had a threerun shot in Miami’s 7-4 victory.
