OAKLAND-BOSTON TRADE

The AL East-leading Red Sox have boosted their outfield depth by acquiring speedy Rajai Davis from Oakland for a minor league outfielder.

Boston sent 18-year-old Rafael Rincones to the lastplace A’s on Wednesday.

Hours before the trade, the Red Sox put OF Jackie Bradley Jr. on the 10-day DL because of a sprained left thumb.

FORMER GM KLEIN DIES AT 75

Joe Klein, who was a general manager for three major league baseball teams before spending the last two decades as executive director of the independen­t Atlantic League, has died. He was 75.

MLB PLANS FAN POLICY

Commission­er Rob Manfred, speaking Tuesday while visiting Comerica Park, says MLB plans to issue a policy on fan behavior for all ballparks next season.

Earlier this season, Baltimore CF Adam Jones was targeted by racial taunts during a game at Boston. The Red Sox later banned a fan for life after he used a racial slur while talking to another man.

CLEVELAND INDIANS

2B Jason Kipnis is on the DL again with a strained right hamstring.

Kipnis returned recently after missing a month but was removed from Tuesday night’s game against Boston.

Kipnis was on the DL from July 9-Aug. 6 when he first injured the hamstring.

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

The team announced Wednesday that closer Trevor Rosenthal was being moved from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day DL and that the right elbow injury would require Tommy John surgery.
