Robert Charles Ziegler died in Houston, TX on August 22, 2017. He was born to Myrtle and Joseph Ziegler in St. Cloud, MN August 13, 1923, and graduated from Sauk Centre High School. While serving in the Army Medical Corps during World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Bob was owner and operator of Big Z Lumber Company until his retirement in 1993. He was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He had been an avid golfer at Braeburn Country Club, formerly a member of Houston Rotary Club, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

His parents, brothers, James and David Ziegler, and his first wife, Ileen Ethun Ziegler, preceded Bob in death. Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Kathryn Adams Ziegler; children David B. Ziegler, Terry R. and Sarka Ziegler and granddaugh­ters Kelsey and Kalen; Scott and Kim Gamble of Austin, TX; and Lisa G. Bailey and granddaugh­ter Hannah of Denver, CO.

Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 26 in the gathering area of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 8601 Chimney Rock, followed by a 3:00 p.m. memorial service in the sanctuary conducted by Pastor Joshua Duffy. A reception will be held in the Church Parish Hall immediatel­y following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Houston Hospice.
