Filmore Wilkerson Duggan passed away peacefully on August 24, 2017 at the age of 88.

Filmore was born to parents Harrison Dewitt and Evelyn V. Duggan on January 29, 1929 in Houston, Texas. He grew up as the 5th of 6 children and attended Stephen F. Austin High School. Proud to serve his country Filmore served in the U.S. Navy from 1949-1953.

In 1950 he met and married Mary Elizabeth Hornberger of Virginia. The couple had three children. Filmore’s civilian career was in chemical plant operations and later as a safety profession­al.

Filmore spent many hours playing the Houston golf courses with his friends, his passion and skill at the game earned him four, Hole I One trophies.

Filmore is survived by son Kenneth Duggan and wife Dianne, son R.L. (Tony) Duggan and wife Laura, daughter Kara Duggan, grandsons Shannon and Ryan Duggan, the mother of his children Mary Duggan and former spouse Shirley Satcher.

Filmore is preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Evelyn Duggan and all of his brothers and sisters.

After cremation services there will be a small, private family memorial. The family is grateful for condolence­s, but declines flowers and donations.

The family wishes to pay respect and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at The Cottages at Clear Lake Alzheimer’s and Memory Care and to A-Med Hospice. Their compassion care and dedication will always be remembered.
