Mark Wahlberg tops Forbes’ list of highest-paid movie stars.

- STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

Turns out there is a benefit to starring in the “Transformers” franchise, it helps your bottom line.

Mark Wahlberg, who starred in “Transformers: The Last Knight” earlier this year, has overtaken Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Hollywood’s highest paid actor, according to Forbes.

The man who first captured our imagination in the ’90s as a rapper named Marky Mark who kept close company with a Funky Bunch, earned $68 million dollars this past year. Johnson was close behind him with $65 million.

Aside from reminding us that Adam Sandler is still making a lot more money than some might say he deserves, the list of the top ten paid actors also reminds us that the global film market is real.
