Few words sparkle with understand­ing the way that “bacon” does. So, keep that in mind when you’re reading about this weekend’s Internatio­nal Bacon Fest, because as alluring as it sounds, it’s not the only cool event in town this weekend.

We’ve got the annual “Original” Greek Festival, a Chicano music festival and a Harry Potterthem­ed bar crawl.

This is a good weekend.

Internatio­nal Bacon Fest

Event features bacon and pork-inspired dishes from around the world. Expect carnival rides, live music, a bacon-eating competitio­n, games, crafts, a pig pen and, of course, plenty of tastings. When: 1-7 p.m. Saturday Where: HTX Sports Creek, 2619 Polk Tickets: $10; baconifest. com

KBR Kids Day

Annual event features stations with hands-on activities from more than 20 Houston nonprofit organizati­ons, pontoon-boat tours, local performers,Dia de los Muertos face painters, balloon artists, a rock-climbing wall, the Sports Zone and more. The Original Greek Festival

Expecto Bar Crawl

38th annual Festival Chicano
