Friday Night Lights Chopped & Screwed, powered by Lets Do This Houston, begins its cruise at 7:45 p.m. Friday from Third Ward Tours, 2301 Elgin St. Riders cruise the streets listening to the 1990s hip-hop music of DJ Screw. Kiwanis Sealy Fall Classic offers routes of 22, 33, 35 and 60 miles at 8 a.m. Saturday. The ride also is known as Pedal for Pie, named for a café along the route serving fresh-baked pies. The ride starts in Sealy and covers the rolling roads west of Sealy around Cat Spring and New Ulm. Galveston Bay Foundation benefits from the eleventh annual Bike Around the Bay ride, a two-day 170-mile ride Saturday morning through 5 p.m. Sunday evening. The cycling event, which begins and ends at Plantgistix in AmeriPort Industrial Park, takes riders in a complete loop around the largest estuary in Texas. This year, a portion of the funds raised will be dedicated to local flood recovery efforts as well as to fulfill the foundation’s mission to preserve and protect the bay. Visit bikearoundthebay.org.

Heroes Race Against Domestic Violence 5K/10K on Saturday morning benefits Katy Christian Ministries and Katy Police Department. The 5K/10K chip-timed run on a USATF certified course begins at KCM, 5504 First St. in Katy. A 5K non-chip timed run and family fun 5K walk is also offered. BCM Wellness 5K/ 1K on Saturday morning is a student-run event held in the heart of the Texas Medical Center to raise funds to promote wellness both within Baylor and the Houston community as a whole. Houston Corporate 5K, billed as the city’s largest office party, features an unassigned staggered start beginning Monday in Memorial Park. The race, which promotes the health and fitness of Houston’s corporate community, remains open through Thursday.
