ROBERT “BOB” MCCALL

1926-2017

Robert McCall 1926-2017. Robert “Bob” McCall, passed away Thursday, October 19 at age 91 in The Woodlands, Texas. Born in Norman, Oklahoma, he enlisted in the Navy after high school and was accepted to their Electronic Technician School in Lake Michigan. He volunteered for submarine duty, was assigned to Midway Island and then to the submarine USS Hawkbill where he served until his discharge in 1946. Returning to the states, he started a small press shop in Denver, Colorado where he met and married his first wife, Jacqueline (Jackie) Richards. Returning to Norman, Oklahoma, Bob enrolled at the University of Oklahoma graduating in 1952 with a B.S. and an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering. He became employed by Texaco as a Petroleum Engineer and spent his entire career in various roles in the company. He traveled extensively overseas negotiating agreements between Texaco and foreign oil suppliers and eventually became Vice President of the Eastern Hemisphere Producing Department. Bob was inducted into the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering Hall of Fame. After Jackie’s death, Bob retired as Executive Vice President of Texaco USA in Houston, Texas and married Lillian Byrdine Grimm in 1987. They moved to The Woodlands, Texas.

Bob is preceded by his parents, Robert Raymond and Ida Hogg McCall and first wife, Jacqueline. He is survived by a loving family, including his second wife, Byrdine McCall; his children, stepchildren, and spouses, Claudia and Bill Wilson, Michael McCall, Melinda McCall and Alan Prybylo, Dan and Tessa McCall, Linda McCall; Tobie Craig and Guy Lewis, Becky Andrews, Russ and Liz Grimm; his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Ellie and Annie Wilson, Jackie and Alex McCall, Lena Johnson, Ivan Prybylo, Dylan and Dawson McCall, Kevin Craig and Kelli Duhon, Jaime and Ray Feola, and Ryan Grimm; and great grandchildren, Lily Johnson and Eli Feola. He is also survived by his sisters Maxine Endacott and husband Jack, and Mary Wildish. Bob was a stellar example of the Greatest Generation and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation Saturday, October 28, 2017, 1:00 PM at Forest Park - The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 S., The Woodlands, Texas 77384 followed by a service in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment and reception will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to The Woodlands Christian Church, 1202 N. Millbend Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77380.
