David Mendel Leff, aged 93, passed away on November 9th, 2017. He was born on August 4th, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Jacob and Annie Leff. He was predecease­d by his loving wife, Evelyn Zimmerman Leff and his brother, Benjamin O. Leff.

David had a wholesale dry goods business, Leff Bros, that he owned with his cousin, Bernard Leff. David was a proud graduate of Texas A& M University, a WWII veteran, a Grand Master of the Masons, a member of the Scottish Rite and of the Shine Chanters. He sang for many years with the Beth Yeshuran choir. Through the age of 80, he was an avid runner and a member of the JCC Health Club.

David was always known for his friendly smile, his abundant kindness and his never ending optimism.

David leaves behind his three children: Dr. Stanley Leff and his wife Marion, Sharan Zwick and her husband Jack Schlossber­g, and Tina MenashePur and her husband, Yomtov. His grandchild­ren are Adam Leff, Molly Freeman, Julia Kaufman and Shai, Etai and Yonatan MenashePur. He had twelve great grandchild­ren. He also leaves behind his companion of the last seven years, Sarah Lee Marks.

Funeral services will be held at Brith Shalom Synagogue on Sunday November 12th at 1:00 PM. Graveside services will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Beth Yeshuran Hurricane Harvey Fund.
