No. 20 Texas A&M beats UH in opener

COLLEGE STATION — Danni Williams scored 21 points, Khaalia Hillsman and Anriel Howard both recorded doubledoub­les, and No. 20 Texas A&M claimed a seasonopen­ing 83-65 victory over Houston in the first round of the Preseason WNIT on Friday night.

Hillsman had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Howard finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Dorian Branch led UH with 17 points.

Kalani Brown had 28 points and 20 rebounds to lead the No. 3 Lady Bears to a rout of the Cardinals in their opener at Waco.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 30 points to lead the No. 5 Buckeyes to a win over the 10th-ranked Cardinal in the teams’ season opener at Columbus, Ohio.
