LOUIS WILLIAM AUGUST “GUS” LOOK

Louis William August Look, Jr. was born on June 27, 1929 to Minnie Letz and LWA Look Sr. at home on Look Road (now Bunker Hill Road) and died November 12, 2017.

He attended the one room school house which was the only Spring Branch Independen­t School location. His parents helped found the Spring Branch School District, beginning with the first teacher living in their home. After graduation from Lamar High School, he joined the Navy. After his tour of duty, he returned to Houston working for TAPCO (now Triten Industries) and then opening Look Precision.

He met and married the only love of his life Mary Alice. They were joyously married for 56 years as soul mates. He loved his family, his dogs, flying, hunting, fishing, and had a great love for the land. In 1997, they retired to Punta Gorda, FL where they enjoyed flying, boating, and the Florida sunshine. They then built a new retirement home on the golf course in Rockport, TX enjoying the same Gulf, but under Texas sunshine.

In 2009, they moved to Eagle’s Trace in Houston, where they have truly enjoyed life, friends, their faith, and being near their family, including their daughter, grandchild­ren, and great grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ethyl and Dorothy, his niece Sharon, and great grandson Quint. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary, daughter Sheryl Johnson-Todd, son Beau Bolton, nephew Chuck Taylor, grandchild­ren Clay and Chris Bolton, Rob Johnson (wife Erin), Meredith Look Johnson Vreeland (husband Jeff ), and Clark Johnson, and great grandchild­ren Trevor and Cordell Bolton; Liv and Rhett Johnson; Jack, Caroline, and Collins Vreeland; and Clark Johnson, Jr.

A memorial service will be held in the Living Room at Eagle’s Trace (14703 Eagle Vista Drive, Houston, TX 77077) at 1:30 PM on Wednesday November 15, 2017.
