W E all know what the top wedding will be for 2018 (cough, cough, Meghan Markle). But let’s not forget all those who found happiness this year, too.
1 Kate Upton and Justin Verlander: Yes, they’ve only been in Houston for a few short months. But he helped the ’Stros win their first-ever World Series, and she sports the world’s cutest retro Houston swag. So can we officially name them Houston’s first couple?
2 Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian: This was a huge year for the tennis champ and the Reddit co-founder. In 2017, the couple were married, and Williams gave birth to
their first child, a daughter named Alexis Olympia.
3 Jim Parsons and Rodd Spiewak: “The Big Bang Theory” star and Houston native finally married his longtime partner in an intimate ceremony at New York City’s Rainbow Room in May.
4 Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause: The two soap opera alums tied the knot in October. And yes, all of Hartley’s co-stars from “This Is Us” were in attendance, as were plenty of boxes of tissues.
5 Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich: The “Dancing With the Stars” celeb married her hockey-playing boyfriend in front of 200 guests in Idaho this summer. Just imagine the dance floor.
6 Jessica Chastain and Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo: The actress known for her ability to play the toughest ladies on the planet married her boyfriend of five years in Italy at an estate just north of Venice that has been in the groom’s family for two centuries.
7 Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail: Nothing shameless about this. Rossum and her director beau were married in New York, with a reception at the Guggenheim.
8 Pippa Middleton and James Matthews: This is the closest 2017 comes to a royal wedding, and Kate Middleton’s younger sister did not disappoint. Did you see Prince George and Princess Charlotte in their adorable attendant outfits?
9 Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski: The actors from “Mean Girls” and “The Newsroom” like to keep their private life private. So when they wed early this year, they did so on the down low. And when Seyfried gave birth to their first child this summer, they declined to share their daughter’s name with the press.
10 Dave Franco and Alison Brie: Another secret wedding! The actors announced their engagement in 2015. And after five years together, they were married in March in an intimate — and hush-hush — ceremony.
