J. Gordon Spencer was born, September 26, 1939 in Baytown, Texas, to Florretta and Jack Spencer, and peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was 78 years.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet Russell Spencer; his son and wife, Craig and Stephanie Spencer of Colorado; his daughter, Stephanie Lawson of Texas; grandchild­ren, Christina and husband Danny Lanskey of Colorado, Brandon Spencer of Colorado and Raven Davidson of Texas.

He is also survived by the family of his wife, Janet, including her mother, Anna Russell; sister, Karen and husband, Terry Davis; sister, Linda and husband, Richard Loper; nephew, Dustin Davis; niece, Lindsay and husband, Robert Clendenen; niece, Morgan Davis; and greatniece, Mackenzy Jones, all of Texas.

Gordon was extremely loved and admired by his family! All very close to him, surroundin­g him on Christmas Eve, each visiting with him prior to his final decline. He will forever live on in each of us!

Gordon was a devoted husband, father and friend to many. He was often described as gracious, honorable and the ultimate gentleman!

Gordon was a practicing architect for 55 years, a member of the AIA, TSA and RIBA, having done numerous projects in the U.S. and around the world.

Gordon was also a passionate reader, enjoyed tennis, golf, traveling and any time with friends & family.

A memorial service and celebratio­n of Gordon’s life will be held at a future date to be announced.

The family wishes to acknowledg­e all of the love and support received during Gordon’s illness and at this time of our great loss. We are forever grateful!
