Rosalee B. Sisson, age 86, died peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Houston Hospice after a sudden and brief illness. A native Houstonian, she graduated from Reagan High School in 1949 and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston. She attended several churches including West End Baptist, St. Mark’s Episcopal and Chapelwood UMC.

Rosalee was the consummate artist who loved every medium and was very active in the Houston art scene and taught art at Albert Thomas Junior High School. She truly loved interior decorating. She loved her animals and was able to travel to Kenya on photograph­ic safari and wrote a memoir of her experience­s. Her travels were extensive and her hobbies were many including bridge, dancing and cheering on her favorite sports teams where she was a regular at University of Houston football games as a lifetime member of the alumni associatio­n. She loved Texas and all things “Houston”. Survivors include her daughter Terri Sigurdson of Virginia, her son Derek Sisson of Houston, her brother Hugh M Bennett of San Diego, four granddaugh­ters and numerous great and great great grandchild­ren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel at Chapelwood UMC, 11140 Greenbay St., Houston, TX 77024. A reception will follow from 3-5 P.M. at Amalfi Ristorante Italiano, 6100 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77057.
