NFC: Vikings at Eagles

-

When: 5:40 p.m. Sunday Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia TV/radio: Fox, 610 AM Records: Vikings 14-3, Eagles 14-3 Vikings rankings: Offense 11th (7th rushing, 11th passing); Defense 1st (2nd rushing, 2nd passing). Eagles rankings: Offense 7th (3rd rushing, 13th passing); defense 4th (1st rushing, 17th passing) Last NFC Championship Game appearances: Vikings lost 31-28 (OT) to Saints in 2009; Eagles lost 32-25 to Cardinals in

2008. All-time NFC Championship Game records: Vikings 3-5, Eagles 2-4.

When the Vikings have the ball: Case Keenum is the toast of the NFL this week after his “Minneapolis Miracle” TD pass to Stefon Diggs that beat the Saints on Sunday, but Keenum will have to be more careful with the ball, as a careless interception helped New Orleans get back into that game. If he can manage the offense, things bode well.

When the Eagles have the ball: There was a decided lack of faith in the Eagles’ chances when star QB Carson Wentz went down for the season, but backup Nick Foles did enough to beat the Falcons last week. Minnesota’s defense is a much tougher matchup, though, and the Eagles will need to get creative against a stout unit.

Did you know: With a win, the Vikings become the first team to play in a Super Bowl in their own stadium. Minnesota’s 40-season drought between Super Bowl appearances is the third-longest behind the Jets (49) and Chiefs (48). … The Eagles are the first home underdog in the NFC Championship Game since the 2012 Falcons, who lost to the 49ers.
