Super Bowl LII
1When: 5:30 p.m. Sunday. TV: NBC. Two weeks after they won their respective NFL conference championship games, resulting in day after day of dissecting every aspect of the impending matchup, New England and Philadelphia finally meet on the field in Minnesota. Let the game begin.
Rockets at Cavaliers
2When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday. TV: ABC. It’s the third week of the network’s Saturday night prime-time game and the third time either the Rockets or Warriors have been featured.
NFL Honors
3When: 8 p.m. Saturday. TV: NBC. The Texans didn’t make the playoffs or have a player in the Pro Bowl because of injuries. But they do have representation in the postseason. J.J. Watt is a finalist for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
Oklahoma at Texas
4When: 5:15 p.m. Saturday. TV: ESPN. College GameDay will be at the Erwin Center for its 9 a.m. show. Rece Davis, Jay Bilas and others will discuss the day’s action in college basketball, including this game.
Texas Tech at TCU
5When: 1 p.m. Saturday. TV: ESPNU. The Big 12’s best game of the day will be played in Fort Worth, where the Horned Frogs, who have been ranked this season, meet the No. 10 Red Raiders. In the conference, only No. 7 Kansas is more highly ranked.
Houston at Central Florida
6When: 11 a.m. Saturday. TV: ESPNU. Although the Cougars fell short at AAC leader Cincinnati on Wednesday, they have another shot at the Bearcats at home in two weeks. Meantime, they must avoid stumbling against other conference opponents.
South Carolina at Texas A&M
7When: 1 p.m. Saturday. TV: ESPN2. After losing their first five SEC games, the Aggies have rebounded with three wins in their past four conference games. They need to maintain that momentum to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
TCU at Texas women
8When: Noon Sunday. TV: LHN. Perhaps the best women’s college basketball game of the weekend features two ranked teams, the No. 22 Horned Frogs against the No. 8 Longhorns. They are among five ranked Big 12 teams.
Phoenix Open
9When: Friday-Sunday. TV: Golf (Friday), Saturday-Sunday (CBS). One of the most entertaining tournaments on the PGA Tour because of the relatively untamed fans, it’s called “The Greatest Show on Grass.”
The Timeline: ‘Helmet Catch’
10When: 6 p.m. Saturday. TV: NFL Network. Patriots lose! Before you haters get too excited, this is not a forecast of Sunday’s game. This a documentary about David Tyree’s catch in the 2008 Super Bowl that propelled the Giants to a 17-14 victory over New England.
