Roger Lee Zelsman of Sugar Land, TX passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018. He was born on June 4, 1939 in Wichita, KS. He grew up in Little Rock, AR where he became an Eagle Scout receiving two outstandin­g awards. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force Air National Guard where he was honored twice to go to the National Pistol matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. He was also a member of the Little Rock Pistol Club where he served as Vice President and President. He moved to Houston, TX to work for Dow Chemical as a Civil Engineer. Upon retiring from Dow, he continued working 33 more years at Carter’s Country where he won top sales and all time highest sales awards. Roger will always be remembered as a funny, loving, caring man and a hard worker who never met a stranger.

Roger is survived by his loving wife and partner of 55 years, Comalene Zelsman who resides in Sugar Land, TX and by his two daughters, Kelly Cherry and Keri Kurtz of Sugar Land, TX. Other family members include sons-in-law, Scott Cherry and Scott Kurtz; granddaugh­ters, Brittany Cherry and Caitlin Kurtz; grandsons Landon Cherry and Chase Kurtz; brother, Jack and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Sugar Land First United Methodist Church, 431 Eldridge at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Associatio­n.
