Beal lifts Wizards over Celtics in 2 OT

-

BOSTON — Bradley Beal scored 34 points, including a three-point play with 1:25 left in the second overtime, and the Washington Wizards beat the short-handed Boston Celtics 125-124 on Wednesday night.

Jayson Tatum missed a 3-pointer just before the buzzer that could have won it for the Celtics, who were without six players and missed several opportunities to put away the Wizards while blowing a 20-point lead.

Boston patched together a lineup without All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving (knee) and center Al Horford (illness), two of the four regulars who were sidelined.

WARRIORS 117, LAKERS 106

Kevin Durant scored 26 points to lead seven players in double figures, and Golden State defeated visiting Los Angeles to snap a two-game skid.

KINGS 123, HEAT 119

Buddy Hield scored 24 points, Zach Randolph added 22, and Sacramento defeated visiting Miami in overtime.

MAGIC 126, BUCKS 117

Jonathon Simmons scored a career-high 35 points, D.J. Augustin added 32, and host Orlando defeated Milwaukee.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 38 points for Milwaukee, which has lost seven of 10.

CURRY, THOMPSON OUT

The Golden State Warriors will not have the Splash Brothers for at least the next four games.

While Stephen Curry is nursing a tweaked right ankle, Klay Thompson has a fractured right thumb. The Warriors will reevaluate Thompson on March 22, while Curry will be reevaluated Tuesday. That opens up the possibility that one or both of the players will return when the Warriors play host to the Atlanta Hawks on March 23.
