Jason Paul Brook, age 50, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Jason was born in Houston, Texas on February 20, 1968. Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Smolensky Brook and Dr. Marven I. Brook; his maternal grandparen­ts Melva and I. Paul Smolensky; and his paternal grandparen­ts Celia and Abraham Brook. Jason is survived by his brother and sister and their families: Adam Brook and Ana Santaguida, nephews Makai and Kalani Brook; Hannah Brook and Jeffrey Peskin, nephews Myles and Benjamin Peskin; in addition to many lifelong friends across the world. Jason graduated from Bellaire High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin before moving to San Diego to pursue his studies. Jason was an avid athlete, spreading his love of all things outdoors including bicycling, surfing, and kite surfing. Jason began his career as a profession­al photograph­er in Cancun and continued that passion during his time in Cancun and Brazil. His love of life, contagious smile and happiness transmitte­d to all who got to know him during his life. “All good” was his motto and he will be missed greatly.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Beth Yeshurun Allen Parkway cemetery, 3502 Allen Parkway, Houston, TX 77019, with Rabbi Pamela B. Silk officiatin­g. Donations in Jason’s memory may be made to: Child Advocates Inc. and Sunshine Kids.
