Officer involved in downtown crash

A Houston police officer was involved in a crash downtown Monday night, authoritie­s said.

The officer was driving eastbound on Gray near Chartres around 10:30 p.m. when either the officer or the driver of a white cargo van ran a red light, police said. The police car then slammed into the side of the van.

Police are working to determine who ran the red light, causing the wreck, according to Metro Video.

No one was taken to the hospital. The officer was treated for bumps and bruises at the scene.
