Festering problems
Regarding “Kids sent to foster homes” (Page A1, Sunday), shame on the American voting citizens and those who were elected to allow this country to be in the turmoil it is today. Most all of these issues did not start with Donald Trump being elected president. All this started decades ago, and no one in any elected office stepped up to handle it when it should have been handled. We have had thousands of people illegally come into this country, some good and some bad.
Congress needs to step up and work with our president to come up with a solution. One suggestion is to encourage the countries south of our border to take care of their own citizens and not tolerate conditions that force them to try to come to America. James E. Muecke, Houston
