The club reinstated CF A.J. Pollock from the 10-day disabled list on Monday, putting a key bat back in its lineup as it tries to hold onto the NL West lead. Pollock hit .293 with 11 homers and 33 RBIs in 40 games before the injury.

CLEVELAND INDIANS

RHP Danny Salazar will miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The team said Salazar had an arthroscop­ic debridemen­t and bursectomy. He will not be able to throw for at least three months while he recovers and there is no definitive timetable on when he'll pitch again.

NEW YORK YANKEES

The club signed RHP Rafael Severino, the 19-year-old brother of Yankees ace Luis Severino, out of the Dominican Republic as an internatio­nal free agent. The younger Severino will start his career pitching out of the Yankees academy in the Dominican Republic.

OAKLAND ATHLETICS

C Bruce Maxwell has been sentenced to two years of probation on a disorderly conduct charge. His sentencing Monday came nearly three months after he pleaded guilty to the charge in a gun-related incident.

Police say Maxwell had pointed a handgun at a woman who delivered food to his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., in October.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Power-hitting SS Marco Luciano from the Dominican Republic is among 11 internatio­nal prospects to sign with the club.

San Francisco announced the deals as the internatio­nal signing period began, including the 16-year-old Luciano — highly regarded as one of the top internatio­nal prospects in the 2018 class.
