Rondo, McGee will join L.A. Bron

- From wire reports

Even when their respective teams were vicious rivals, Rajon Rondo often gave LeBron James high praise. He’ll now give him the ball. A person with knowledge of the negotiations Monday confirmed to the Associated Press that Rondo, 32, had agreed to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal is not finalized.

So in less than 24 hours, not only did the Lakers lure James out of Cleveland — but added two players who were longtime antagonists in his annual quest to win the Eastern Conference, first by agreeing to a deal with Lance Stephenson on Sunday night and then moving Monday to convince Rondo to join what will be his sixth NBA franchise.

JaVale McGee is moving south.

The two-time NBA champion with the Warriors is going to be part of the revamping by the Lakers, agreeing to a oneyear deal worth just under $2.4 million, according to a person familiar with the negotiations.

A person familiar with the decision said the Sixers and JJ Redick agreed to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal are not known.

Redick averaged 17.1 points and shot 42 percent in his first season with the Sixers.

A person with knowledge of the deal said the Mavericks reached an agreement to bring back center Salah Mejri on a one-year contract for the veteran’s minimum of $1.6 million.

Mejri, 32, from Tunisia, is set to be one of the backups to DeAndre Jordan.

Derrick Favors was a priority for Utah, and the Jazz succeeded in their quest to retain him.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations said Favors and the Jazz have come to terms on a two-year contract that could be worth up to $36 million,

Favors, 26, averaged 12.3 points last season for the Jazz.

Veteran forward Anthony Tolliver is joining the Timberwolves, returning to one of the nine NBA teams for which he’s played.

A person with knowledge of the agreement said Tolliver will sign a one-year contract for $5.75 million with the Timberwolves.

Veteran guard Jose Calderon is joining his former coach, Dwane Casey, in Detroit.

The Celtics signed guard Brad Wanamaker, who spent the last seven years playing in Europe.

The 6-4 former Pittsburgh Panther averaged 11.5 points for Fenerbahce Ulker last season.

The Warriors’ first-round pick guard/forward Jacob Evans III signed and is set to play in the summer league.
