Missing woman’s body found in bayou

A body found Tuesday in Greens Bayou is believed to be that of a woman reported missing, officials said.

Rebecca Suhrheinrich, 58, was reported missing after she didn’t show up for work last Friday and Monday. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said investigators found her north Harris County apartment in disarray with “obvious” signs of foul play, including blood.

Her car was also found nearby, according to reports.

The body, found about 10 a.m. under West Hardy Road, showed obvious signs of trauma, and the sheriff ’s office is investigating the death as a homicide, spokesman Jason Spencer said.
