Fatal shooting may be tied to robbery

A man was fatally shot after a possible robbery at an apartment complex in Chinatown, police said.

The man, identified as Alex Alfaro, was shot in the head about 10 p.m. Monday after an altercation at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Corporate.

He died at the hospital. Another man approached police while they were investigating and said he’d been robbed nearby, police said. Police are trying to determine whether the shooting and the robbery are connected.

Police later said in a tweet that the fatal shooting stemmed from a possible robbery.
