SPANISH VILLAGE NOW SERVING BRUNCH
Spanish Village, 4720 Almeda, has been a stalwart on Houston’s Tex-Mex scene for nearly 65 years. Now under new ownership, the location recently unveiled a Sunday brunch menu, the first in its history. “Every day I hear people say not to change anything, but the problem is that something did need to change. It needed a jump-start,” said Abhi Sreerama, 26, who bought the restaurant from the Medina family in February. Brunch, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., includes dishes such as elotes kolaches, breakfast enchiladas, Eggs Benito (with a seared jalapeño cheddar masa cake) and Tres Leches French Toast. Pitchers of sangria and mimosas are available.
