NFL POWER RANKINGS
L.A. Rams 5-0 (ranked No. 1 last week):
Despite scoring at least 33 points in each game, they now trail the Saints and Chiefs in scoring.
Kansas City 5-0 (2):
The Chiefs played their best game in a 30-14 win over Jacksonville. They’ll need to do it again at New England.
New Orleans 4-1 (3):
With Drew Brees breaking Peyton Manning’s record for yards behind a highscoring offense, the good times are rolling.
New England 3-2 (7):
Tom Brady has receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon as weapons and should need them against the Chiefs.
Cincinnati 4-1 (9):
The surprising Bengals are in first place. They host Pittsburgh, the first of three out of four games at Paul Brown Stadium.
Chicago 3-1 (8):
The Bears lead the NFC North. They play four straight games against AFC East teams: Miami, New England, the Jets and Buffalo.
Carolina 3-1 (10):
The Panthers are one-half game behind New Orleans in the NFC South. The teams meet two times in the last three games.
Tennessee 3-2 (4):
The Titans were upset by one point at Buffalo. After hosting Baltimore, they play four of their next five games on the road.
Jacksonville 3-2 (5):
The Jaguars lost decisively at Kansas City. They play at Dallas before returning to Jacksonville to host the Texans.
L.A. Chargers 3-2 (14):
Their three victories have been over Buffalo, San Francisco and Oakland, who are a combined 4-11.
Pittsburgh 2-2-1 (19):
The Steelers can return to contention in the AFC North. They play Cincinnati, Cleveland and Baltimore in their next three.
Minnesota 2-2-1 (20):
If the Vikings can defeat Arizona and the Jets, they’ll have a three-game winning streak when they entertain New Orleans.
Green Bay 2-2-1 (11):
After hosting San Francisco, the Packers have road games against the Los Angeles Rams and New England.
Cleveland 2-2-1 (23):
The Browns have won two of three. Starting with the Chargers in Cleveland, none of the next four foes has a losing record.
Baltimore 3-2 (6):
The Ravens lost in OT at Cleveland. It gets tougher with the next three against Tennessee, New Orleans and Carolina.
Miami 3-2 (13):
After winning their first three games, the Dolphins have lost at New England and Cincinnati and have been outscored 65-24.
Seattle 2-3 (16):
Five of the first seven games are on the road. Next up is a trip to London against the Raiders.
Washington 2-2 (12):
Washington had two weeks to prepare for New Orleans and Drew Brees and still got blown out at the Superdome.
Houston 2-3 (25):
The Texans have won backto-back OT games. If they defeat Buffalo, they’ll take a three-game winning streak to Jacksonville.
Philadelphia 2-3 (17):
The defending Super Bowl champions have lost three of four. They play two of their next three on the road.
Tampa Bay 2-2 (21):
The Bucs had an open date to lick their wounds from a two-game losing streak.
Denver 2-3 (18):
Not only did the Broncos get crushed by the Jets, but they allowed 512 yards, including 323 rushing.
Dallas 2-3 (15):
The Cowboys’ loss at Houston gave them three defeats on the road, but they’re one-half game out of first place in the NFC East.
Detroit 2-3 (29):
The Lions went into their open date with a home victory over Green Bay. After their open date, they’ll play at Miami.
N.Y. Jets 2-3 (31):
In their two wins, the Jets have averaged 41 points a game. In their three losses, they’ve averaged 13.6.
Buffalo 2-3 (30):
The Bills are coming off a one-point upset of Tennessee. They play another AFC South team, the Texans, in their next game.
Atlanta 1-4 (22):
The Falcons have a three-game losing streak. Their defense has allowed 40.3 points in their last three games.
N.Y. Giants 1-4 (24):
The Giants have problems on and off the field under coach Pat Shurmur. Odell Beckham Jr. is at the center of controversy.
Oakland 1-4 (26):
After losing to the Chargers, maybe it’ll be good for Jon Gruden to go to London for the Raiders’ next game against Seattle.
Arizona 1-4 (32):
Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen earned his first victory when the Cardinals won a road game over San Francisco.
Indianapolis 1-4 (27)
The Colts have an injurydepleted roster that’s relying too heavily on QB Andrew Luck while the losses continue to pile up.
San Francisco 1-4 (28):
Not only did the 49ers lose to Arizona, but they got beat at home by what had been the NFL’s lowest-scoring team.
