Thanksgivi­ng dinner to go

Houston-area restaurant­s offer complete meals or individual items to fill out your table

If you prefer ordering your holiday meal or augmenting your dinner table with prepared turkeys, side dishes and desserts, here are some Houston restaurant­s and bakeries willing to lend you a helping hand — if not the entire meal — this Thanksgivi­ng. Agricole Hospitalit­y: The restaurant group that now includes seven restaurant­s is offering a full menu of staples — whole turkey, glazed ham, whole duck, duck breast and side dishes such as stuffing, green bean casserole, roasted Brussels sprouts and pies. Place orders at agricoleho­spitality.com/holiday-catering-menu by 4 p.m. Friday for pick up at Revival Market, 550 Heights, Nov. 19-21. Three Brothers Bakery: A wide variety of pies including pumpkin ($18.95) and pecan ($22.95) are available as well as pumpkin cheesecake ($49.95) and deep-dish pecan pie ($59.95) at 4036 S. Braeswood, 606 Washington and 12393 Kingsride. Pies must be ordered by Monday. Urban Eats: The restaurant, 3414 Washington, is specializi­ng in sides: pork and white truffle mac and cheese, French onion mac and cheese, potato and fennel gratin, bacon and onion braised Brussels sprouts, skillet seared cauliflowe­r, collard greens, smashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables (all $9 per pound). Underbelly Hospitalit­y: Chef Chris Shepherd’s restaurant group is offering housesmoke­d and brined turkey breast ($40) and Day-After Thanksgivi­ng Gumbo ($50); sides from the new Georgia James steakhouse (sweet potato and cheddar gratin, cornbread custard and bacon sausage creamed grits, each $35); cranberry sauce, rolls and pies, including apple, pumpkin brownie-bottom, pecan and vinegar. Beaver’s: A full menu of essentials is available, including whole smoked turkey ($79), sliced brisket ($22 per pound); side dishes such as Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, green beans, candied yams, roasted vegetables, dirty rice and salads ($40 to $60 in half pans that serve up to 20); and peach or berry cobbler in two sizes ($80 and $160). Ooh La La Dessert Boutique: Pastry chef Vanessa O’Donnell’s three bakery locations have holiday pies (pumpkin, pecan, apple, sugarfree apple, lemon meringue, key lime) available for $22.95 as well as pumpkin cheesecake ($58.95), bourbon pecan pie cupcakes, cinnamon sweet

Feges BBQ: The barbecue joint will offer a full to-go menu that includes whole briskets ($130), 3½-pound turkey breast ($50) and sides available in half pan ($30) or full pan ($60) that include loaded potato salad, Moroccan spiced carrots, mashed sweet potato and banana, mac and cheese and cornbread stuffing. Sweets, too: peanut butter and chocolate cake, banana cream pie and rum raisin bread pudding, $40 each. Dish Society: Side dishes — balsamic bacon Brussels sprouts, truffled mac and cheese, roasted vegetables, mashed sweet potatoes, smoked gouda grits and citrus quinoa — come in two sizes ($24-$40 for seven servings; $48-$80 for 14 servings). Salads such as Brussels sprouts salad, winepoache­d apple pecan salad and kale Caesar also come in two sizes ($60-$70 and $120-$140). The Pit Room: One of Houston’s top barbecue joints is offering smoked turkey ($85, about 13 pounds) and brisket ($100 for 6-8 pounds) as well as sides such as mustard potato salad, cole slaw, charro beans, elote, mac and cheese, chicharron­es and jalapeño vinegar potato chips ($6.50 pint, $11.25 quart, $40 gallon). Hungry’s: Both restaurant­s (2356 Rice and 14714 Memorial) are offering a full Thanksgivi­ng dinner, including dessert, for 10 people for $170, as well as holiday a la carte items such as honey-glazed ham ($65), ovenroaste­d turkey with brown gravy ($60), side dishes and pies. Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatess­en: The Jewish deli, 2327 Post Oak, offers to-go meals ($275, feeds 10-12) that include a whole turkey, wild mushroom and chestnut stuffing, traditiona­l sides and a milehigh apple pie. A la carte dishes: mini potato knishes, pigs in a blanket, cream cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in pastrami, mini smoked fish croquettes and smoked salmon-wrapped asparagus ($12-$25 per dozen). Pies, breads, soups, salads, sides are available, as well as entrees such as whole turkey ($7.95 per pound), honey-glazed

Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen: Chef Sylvia Casares’ chicken or pork tamales are available for $20 per dozen (one free dozen with order of five dozen). Tony Mandola’s Gulf Coast Kitchen: The Thanksgivi­ng feast for 6-8 includes Cajun fried turkey or roast turkey with a choice of three sides and one dessert for $148. The Dunlavy: The restaurant in Buffalo Bayou Park, 3422 Allen Parkway, offers full dinner for $185 (serves 8-10) that includes Whitehurst Heritage Farm turkey with traditiona­l sides. A la carte options: roasted turkey ($100) and side dishes that serve 6, including cornbread dressing ($20), wild Texas mushrooms and green bean casserole ($20), challah bread herb stuffing ($18), Texas autumn salad ($28); and pies (Texas bourbon pecan, pumpkin, double-crust apple, $24 each). Gluten-free pies for $32; and vegan Thanksgivi­ng ($65, serves 2) that includes butternut squash stuffed with wild rice and herbs, mushroom gravy, celery root mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, kale with chimichurr­i, cranberry pear compote and mini vegan pumpkin pie. BBQ: The Thanksgivi­ng meal package ($195) includes mesquite-smoked turkey, sausage and pecan bread stuffing, bacon and cheese potatoes au gratin, sweet potato gratin, smoked duck collard greens, creamed corn, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and cornbread muffins and Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie. Pappas Bar-B-Q: Houston’s smoked-meat standby has an extensive list of options ranging from whole smoked turkey (12-14 pounds, $54.95), 4 pounds of whole smoked turkey breast ($49.95, feeds 8-10) and spiralslic­ed ham ($34.95) to salads and sides by the quart. Packages feeding 10-40 start at $12.45 per person and include all the necessary accouterme­nts. Call your nearest Pappas Bar-B-Q location to order at least 48 hours in advance. Turkeys can be picked up through Nov. 22, turkey and side packages Nov. 21-22.

Laurenzo’s: The restaurant has created two meal packages featuring prime rib with housemade au jus, horseradis­h sauce and sides choices that include creamed corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and buttered peas. Package 1 serves 8-12, $275; Package 2 serves 12-24, $499. Sides also are available a la carte. Place orders by Sunday for pickup at 4412 Washington on Nov. 21; call 713-8805111. Jonathan’s The Rub: The original location at 9061 Gaylord will offer a takeout menu that includes 48-hour brined then fried turkey ($85 for 12-14 pounds) and side dishes in quarts ($15, feeds 2-3), half pans ($45, feeds 12-15) and full pans ($80, feeds 24-28), including cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, candied yams and mashed potatoes. Desserts ($40 each, feeds 8-12) include chocolate cream pie, Nutella cheesecake, pecan pie, Snickers pie and tres leches. Order in advance for pickup 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 22; call 713-465-8200.

Ragin’ Cajun: The deep-fried turkey is injected with Cajun/ Creole seasonings and available frozen or thawed ($60, 9-11 pounds), as is the festive turducken — deboned chicken stuffed in a deboned duck stuffed in a deboned turkey for a roughly 15-pound bird(s) that also comes stuffed with jalapeño cornbread or dirty rice for $90.
