Roberta Ellen Baggett, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 11, 2019. A native Houstonian, Roberta was born May 9, 1936.

Always exceptiona­lly bright, Roberta won the American Legion Award at Hamilton Jr High. She was Valedictor­ian of the 1954 class of Reagan High School where she also served as Captain of the Red Coats drill team. She attended Rice Institute majoring in English. Roberta was a beautiful woman, both in heart and appearance. While in high school, she modeled for Harold’s in the Heights displaying her “Elizabeth Taylor” good looks. She was also a skilled seamstress and pianist. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband David C. Baggett, Sr., parents Bob and Jane Taylor and brother Dr. Patrick Taylor. Roberta is survived by her children Jane “Bunnie” Switzer and her husband Andy, David C. Baggett, Jr. and his wife Denise, and Aimee Snoots and her husband Wynne. Roberta was blessed with 9 grandchild­ren and 3 great grandchild­ren. Roberta is also survived by her brothers Lloyd Raymond (Raymie) Taylor and Dr. Mike Taylor. Roberta is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roberta suffered from mental illness the majority of her life but now has peace in The Savior’s arms. The family would also like to recognize and thank the kind staff at The Hallmark and Belinda Raymond, her faithful friend and caregiver. A funeral service will be conducted January 15th at 2 PM in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with the interment to follow.
